Safeguarding

Trust Lead for Safeguarding:         Nicola Kenyon

Safeguarding Trustee:                     Ann Lloyd

Safeguarding is the proactive stance, which aims to protect children from abuse or harm, and Child Protection is the reactive stance taken to support pupils whom the school suspects may be in need of protection.

Safeguarding Statement

The University of Lincoln Academy Trust is committed to Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, and expects all staff, and we expect everyone who works within our trust to share this commitment.

Safeguarding arrangements across our trust are underpinned by two key principles:

  • Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility: all staff, trustees, academy governing councils (AGCs) and volunteers must fulfil their full role in keeping children safe. We have an aligned approach to safeguarding. This means ensuring safeguarding and child protection are at the forefront and underpin all relevant aspects of process and policy development and operate in the best interests of the child.
  • A child-centred approach: a clear understanding of the needs and views of children. We recognise the importance of enabling children to talk openly about anything that worries them. Every member of staff has a collective recognition of the importance of providing an environment that helps children feel safe and respected, and a culture that encourages children to talk to a trusted adult, and have the confidence they will be listened to, or access well publicised systems for reporting or disclosing abuse or harm.

We have a number of policies and procedures in place that contribute to our safeguarding commitment (please click the button below labelled ‘Trust Policies’). To obtain a hard copy of any of our policies, please contact the Trust on 01406 423042(opens in new tab) or send an email to enquiries@uolat.co.uk
