The Spring term has certainly offered new growth across progress and attainment. These are key priorities across HPA with all staff working incredibly hard to ensure every second counts. The pupils are enjoying the steps they are making and intervention is entwined across all parts of the day. Some of the best phases heard have been : ‘I’ve got it’ , ‘it all makes sense’, ‘I can do it.’ Accompanying these are smiles which reinforces learning is fun. Reading has been a particular element driven through changes to lesson content, structure, regular revisits and also investing time in live author sessions. These have enthused the pupils, providing great vocabulary and language opportunities further supporting pleasure in reading. Updates across progress and attainment demonstrates a rising APS figure with more pupils regularly achieving over 100. It is particular pleasing to hear staff discussing the pupil’s successes both small and great :- a spring in their step. Collaborative working across staff proves particularly beneficial and will continue.

Upper Key Stage 2 pupils attended the Spalding Council offices as part of a Democracy Day. They met a number of councillors, interviewing and taking part in debates.
The pupils were included in a discussion linked to Spalding Town Centre and what they felt it needed to attract more visitors to the town.
This aligned with UK Parliament Week and further expanded the pupils’ knowledge across Fundamental British Values.
