University Academy Long Sutton (UALS) is celebrating a successful set of GCSE results for 2026, with pupils achieving positive outcomes across a range of subjects and many now moving on to the next stage of their education and training.
There was a positive atmosphere throughout the academy’s brand-new building on results day as pupils collected their grades and celebrated their achievements with staff, family, and friends.
This year’s results saw particularly strong performances in Art, Citizenship, Performing Arts, and Statistics, while significant improvements were recorded in Music, Engineering, History and Science. Academy leaders said the outcomes reflected the hard work and determination of pupils, supported by staff and families throughout the academic year.
Vice Principal Simon Gilman praised the achievements of the year group and their readiness for future opportunities.
“We are genuinely pleased with the achievements of our pupils this year and to see them gain the grades they need to move on to the next stage of their education and training,” he said.
“We are also excited that so many of our pupils will continue their journey within our trust by joining the Sixth Form at University Academy Holbeach.”
Following their GCSE studies, many pupils will progress to A-Level courses, while others have chosen to pursue further education through college programmes, including T-Level qualifications, which combine academic learning with practical workplace experience. A number of students will also begin apprenticeships, gaining valuable industry experience in their chosen career pathways.
Academy leaders paid tribute to the collective effort behind the results, recognising the support of staff and families.
Mr Gilman added:
“These achievements are the result of a real team effort. We would like to thank our staff for their dedication, our families for the encouragement and support they have given their children.”
“Most importantly, we congratulate our pupils and wish them every success in the future. Their hard work and perseverance have brought them to this point, and we are confident they will continue to achieve great things.”
The academy is also looking ahead to an exciting new academic year, with further phases of its redevelopment project due to be completed, including landscaping works around the new site. UALS will also welcome its new Principal, Mr Alam, as the school continues its next chapter of development.
Pupils interested in applying to the University Academy Holbeach Sixth Form can do so from Thursday 20 August following GCSE results day. Further information about the sixth form’s academic and enrichment offer is available at https://sixthform.uah.org.uk.
